About the role

The Transmission Line Project Engineer position is available in Lake Oswego, OR, with potential for relocation to Boise, ID; Salt Lake City, UT, or Billings, MT.

Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership and guidance for the planning, design, and delivery of high-voltage overhead transmission line projects.
  • Research, design, concept development, planning, client interactions, business and proposal development, construction support, and staff mentorship.
  • Support project development through disciplined engineering practices, coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to established quality and safety standards.
  • Lead, support, and coordinate project engineering leadership, project manager support, department support, and additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 5-7 years of post-education experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in the transmission field of designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95
  • Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation
  • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
  • Field program planning, management, and execution
  • Subcontractor management
  • Cost estimating and scheduling
  • Field experience
  • MBA degree from an accredited university
  • Involvement in technical societies (IEEE, CIGRE, ASCE…)
  • Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Foundation Design Software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE)
  • POLE and TOWER experience

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $110,000 - $150,000, with additional benefits and other compensation contingent on specific geographic location and circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
