Transmission Line Project Engineer - Remote
About the role
The Transmission Line Project Engineer position is available in Lake Oswego, OR, with potential for relocation to Boise, ID; Salt Lake City, UT, or Billings, MT.
Responsibilities
- Technical leadership and guidance for the planning, design, and delivery of high-voltage overhead transmission line projects.
- Research, design, concept development, planning, client interactions, business and proposal development, construction support, and staff mentorship.
- Support project development through disciplined engineering practices, coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to established quality and safety standards.
- Lead, support, and coordinate project engineering leadership, project manager support, department support, and additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 5-7 years of post-education experience
- 3+ years’ experience in the transmission field of designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95
- Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
- Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
- Field program planning, management, and execution
- Subcontractor management
- Cost estimating and scheduling
- Field experience
- MBA degree from an accredited university
- Involvement in technical societies (IEEE, CIGRE, ASCE…)
- Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Foundation Design Software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE)
- POLE and TOWER experience
Benefits

Compensation ranges from $110,000 - $150,000, with additional benefits and other compensation contingent on specific geographic location and circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
