About the role

This position offers a flexible work arrangements, with the option to work remotely or from one of our offices across the Northeast region. Preferred locations include: Boston, MA Mount Laurel, NJ Syracuse, NY New York, NY Freeport, ME

Responsibilities

  • Technical leadership and guidance for the planning, design, and delivery of high-voltage overhead transmission line projects.
  • Research, design, concept development, planning, client interactions, business and proposal development, construction support, and staff mentorship.
  • Support project development through disciplined engineering practices, coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to established quality and safety standards.
  • Lead, support, and coordinate project engineering leadership, project manager support, department support, and additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 7-10 years’ experience in the transmission field of designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
  • Strong understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95
  • Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation

Qualifications

  • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Skills

  • Leadership and project management skills
  • Technical expertise in transmission line design and PLS-CADD
  • Ability to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
  • Field program planning, management, and execution experience
  • Subcontractor management experience
  • Cost estimating and scheduling experience
  • Field experience
  • Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Foundation Design Software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE)
  • Pole and Tower experience

Benefits

Compensation range: $103,000 - $176,000
