Transmission Line Designer 1 - Grid
About the role
This position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your design skills, while working in a multi-disciplined team environment with other Electrical and Structural designers and/or engineers in the development of transmission/distribution line drawings/designs.
Responsibilities
- Develop transmission line plans and profile drawings
- Create transmission/distribution line hardware details
- Create material lists and grounding details
- Create master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions
- Interpret input from a variety of sources, such as engineering specifications, weight and volume calculations, and stress factors
- Accompany and assist other project team members on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project
- Explain your drawings to vendors and construction contractors to make appropriate design adjustments
Requirements
- An Associate’s Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- 3 or more years experience in design/drafting of Transmission Lines
Qualifications
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
- Ability to multi-task from project to project
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Attention to detail
Skills
- Experience using Microstation, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or GIS software

$58,925 - $84,728
Schedule
Hybrid work schedule with in-office work 3 days per week.
