About the Role
Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to Linemen, Apprentices, Equipment Operators, Crane Operators, and Groundmen performing maintenance and construction on all transmission projects.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized power lines
- Lead and teach hot stick work on energized lines
- Conduct pre-job or tailgate briefings
- Identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit
- Safely perform reconductoring jobs
- Safely install and remove mechanical jumpers
- Use a load bust tool
- Identify and locate puller and tensioner setups
- String overhead wire
- Set poles and anchors
- Inspect PPE and rubber goods
- Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear
- Troubleshoot problems and supervise troubleshooting in primary and secondary systems
- Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits and systems
- Work with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect lives
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order
- Comply with company reporting procedures and complete required paperwork
- Coordinate and inspect the work of crew members
