Transmission EIT/Designer
About the role
HDR Engineering is currently seeking a Transmission EIT/Transmission Designer to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a self-directed individual who is eager to learn and take on new challenges.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, foundations, and support systems in compliance with applicable codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NESC).
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Review vendor shop drawings for conformance to construction documents.
- Cook up with electrical, civil, and protection & control engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Conduct site visits for data collection, constructability reviews, and field engineering support.
- Support project management activities including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
- Work under the direction of Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s).
- Conduct analyses to develop design options, perform modeling and/or calculations, and prepare design sketches and concept drawings.
- Work with Designers and CAD Technicians to develop construction drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.
- Assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications.
- Participate in field reviews or constructions observation.
Requirements
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office

- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
