About the role

This position involves managing project teams for high voltage substations, including engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals. Responsibilities include coordinating detailed design phases, working with stakeholders like civil and structural engineers, ensuring high quality and timely project completion, and preparing technical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Directs team leads in detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
  • Coordinates and manages work performed by other stakeholders such as civil, structural, and transmission lines.
  • Ensures projects are completed with high quality, on time, and within budget.
  • Identifies and tracks potential out-of-scope work, develops and provides scope changes, and coordinates with clients for approval.
  • Coordinates systems design activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
  • Communicates directly with clients, providing both project support and overall account support.
  • Supports business development opportunities with existing and potential clients.
  • Performs and provides independent reviews of work performed by others, including scopes of work, proposals, procurement specifications, and contract documents.
  • Develops and mentors team members.

Requirements

BS preferably from an ABET-accredited program. Specific experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission, Substation or Energy Projects. Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI. 10 or more years of experience in the design engineering and/or management of high voltage utility type projects. Experience in preparation, oversight, or management of scopes of work, development of conceptual layouts, determination of design basis, selection of equipment and materials, and preparation and assembly of calculations and specifications. Experience in execution of projects in multiple contract arrangements including EPC, Owners Engineer, Traditional or Joint Ventures a plus. Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support, engineer or management role. Excellent written and verbal communications a must. Experience in writing proposals. Experience in cost allocation and control, estimating, proposal preparation, risk assessment programs and techniques.

Qualifications

PE license. Advanced management/business degree or certification preferred. PMP Certification. Construction and start-up experience plus. Commissioning experience plus.

Pay

$145,310.00 - $222,001.00
