Transition Job Coach (Florence)
Job Responsibilities
Collaborate with counselors to assist with Pre-Employment Transition Services.
Coordinate with the Business Development Specialist (BDS) to make new and existing employer contacts for work-based learning experiences, including job shadowing, job tryouts, internships, summer employment, school-based work experiences, and other community-based evaluation opportunities for transition students.
Assist in coaching and monitoring students participating in JRT services during the summer.
Prepare consumers to have an effective job search by providing instruction, personal and peer support, networking opportunities, and employment resources.
Support students identified as requiring supported employment services by providing job coaching support services and supported employment services such as job matching, job analysis, intensive on-the-job training, social skills training, identification of natural supports, and follow-up services including assisting in the identification of an extended service provider.
Provide on-going support during the transition of student's initial job adjustment and monitor progress regarding work performance and document consumer's adjustment.
Provide job coaching for applicants participating in Trial Work Experiences (TWE).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Vocational Evaluation, Rehabilitation Counseling, Technical or Adult Education, or Psychology, and two years of rehabilitation or related experience.
- A high school diploma and related experience may substitute for the required bachelor's degree.
- If invited to interview, obtain your Official 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you.
- Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Vocational Evaluation, Rehabilitation Counseling, Technical or Adult Education, or Psychology.
