Transit and Motorcoach Diesel Mechanic

Mechanic Responsibilities

• Schedules are flexible
• Works 2nd shift and weekends, 7 days a week
• Must be able to work independently
• Additional training programs are available
• Position is safety sensitive
• Preventive maintenance inspections
• Emergency and road failure repairs
• General maintenance on electrical, HVAC, brake and accessory systems

Required Tasks

• Transit and Motorcoach HVAC experience
• Wheelchair lift experience helpful
• Own basic hand tools
• Basic understanding of diesel engines, tires, air brake systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and ability to perform necessary preventative maintenance and repair in all aspects, with proper training
• Cummins and Detroit experience; certifications a plus
• Ford and Chevrolet gas and diesel experience
• Alternative fuel experience a plus
• Ability to read and troubleshoot wiring schematics
• Power-trained and electrical diagnosing
• Allison transmission experience preferred
• Advance complex wiring diagnosing preferred
• Document all work completed and parts used

Requirements

• Mechanic must have at least 2 years' experience or technical training working on buses and diesel powered vehicles
• Mechanic must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Mechanic must have a High School degree or equivalent
• Mechanic must have a valid Driver's License
