Transient Analysis - Senior Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Transient Analysis Engineer you will performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, in particular for non-Loss of Coolant Accidents (non-LOCA) transients. You will report to the Manager, Transient Analysis / Safety Analysis / Risk Applications, Licensing and be located at our global headquarters in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. This position is hybrid; you will be onsite 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the develop and assess thermal-hydraulic models to perform safety analysis calculations consistent with regulatory requirements
- Lead reload safety evaluations for each plant cycle
- Lead plant specific licensing basis, analyses of record
- Be point of contact for plant-specific Safety Analysis (non-LOCA, transient dose or containment integrity related) specific inquiries from both internal and external customers
- Lead the Evaluation of impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- Lead project teams
- Lead integration and development of major technical descriptions to support customer proposals.
- Lead work of other engineers and provide periodic performance feedback to them.
- Communicate with responsible project manager on status of work projects
- Identify and support business growth opportunities and present recommendations to management.
- Develop new or improved products/services using knowledge of economic studies and recent technical developments. Prepare technical documents for products/services.
- Instruct, train, and guide personnel on significant technical projects, tasks and activities.
- Provide specific engineering discipline expert knowledge to peers, vendors and customers.
- Develop procedures, processes and methods for implementing technical requirements.
- Develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related business products.
Qualifications
- B. S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering Required
- Minimum 5 years of applicable nuclear safety analysis
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to communicate a variety of issues: project status, problem resolution, engineering recommendations
- Beneficial: Interest in software programming and code development
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.

This position is hybrid; you will be onsite 2 days per week.
