About the role
As a Transient Analysis Engineer II, you will perform design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors. This analysis will include Non-LOCA analysis, Containment Integrity analysis, and Loss of Coolant Accidents/Improve Break Mass and Energy release analysis. You will report to the Manager, Transient Analysis and be located at Cranberry, PA with a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and assess models and correlations for predicting two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
- Perform nuclear reactor safety analysis and develop analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
- Perform reload safety evaluations for each plant cycle
- Be cognizant of plant-specific licensing basis and analyses of record
- Serve as a contact for plant-specific non-LOCA or containment analysis inquiries from both internal and external customers
- Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to communicate project status, problem resolution, and engineering recommendations
Requirements
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or equivalent
- Experience in performing accident/safety analysis in a comparable nuclear engineering field
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $69,200 to $86,500 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
