About the role
The RN - Transfusion shall be responsible to provide direct and indirect patient care. This individual will be responsible for a variety of nursing functions although they may specialize in one particular area.
Responsibilities
- Basic nursing assessment
- Medication administration and side effect management
- Patient education
- EMR documentation
- Care coordination in accordance with provider orders and treatment protocols
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education/Experience: Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 1-year critical care or oncology experience.
- Licensure/Certification: Active RN licensure required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, Chemo, TNCC, etc.) may be required upon area assigned
Qualifications
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software. Strong team leadership skills, strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills. Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to remain calm in difficult situations. Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, proven track record of successful performance. Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
