Transformer Technician I

We’re looking for

• Assembler of transformer components such as radiators, bushings, and conservators
• Performer of degassing, pressure, and vacuum testing using dehydrator units
• Regasifier of units and fabrication of gaskets or O-rings when needed
• Assister with teardown and preparation of transformers for transport or disposal
• Resolver of basic wiring and mechanical issues
• Inspector and operator of tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment safely

The Experience We’re Looking For

• Up to three years of experience in transformer oil processing, service, or assembly
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and online platforms
• Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to follow instructions
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting team objectives

Additional Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel up to 80% across the continental U.S.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Successful completion of a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Availability for extended or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays
• Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights exceeding 100 feet, operate in confined spaces, and perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good vision, hearing, and English proficiency to ensure safe and effective communication in noisy environments

Bonus Points for

• Experience with transformer oil filtration, testing, or disassembly
• Possession of a Class A CDL, OSHA training, or a TWIC card
• Holding a DOT medical certification
• Familiarity with transformer components, control wiring, or oil filtration
• Knowledge of transformer teardown or disposal preparation procedures
• Previous work experience with energized equipment or substations
