Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for the care, removal, and transport of human remains in accordance with all state, local, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for transporting the deceased from hospitals, nursing homes, residences, prep rooms, or embalming facilities to the mortuary or funeral home.
- Maintains the transport vehicle by ensuring it is well-maintained, clean inside and out, and stocked with adequate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Performs duties with strict adherence to policies and procedures.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record.
Qualifications

- Creativity when dealing with client families.
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Bilingual is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an indoor office setting. Outdoor duties may require exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
- Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, computer, fax, copier, merchant terminal, multi-line phone system, and personal or company-owned vehicle.
- Regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 150 pounds; may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.
- May require reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- May be exposed to chemicals and/or bloodborne pathogens (exposure risk is considered low).
- Overtime is sometimes necessary or required.
Travel
This position does not require out-of-state or overnight travel. Travel is primarily local, occurring during the business day only.
