Transfer Station Laborer/Spotter

GFL offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with evenings and weekends free, year-round full-time stability, and dependable local pay and hours.

Responsibilities

• Direct incoming trucks and light traffic safely on the tipping floor while providing friendly customer service.
• Visually inspect waste loads to identify and safely separate unacceptable materials before disposal.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and transfer floor throughout the day.
• Assist equipment operators with routine inspections and basic maintenance of wheel loaders or small backhoes.
• Actively participate in GFL’s safety culture: wear required PPE (including safety footwear) and report hazards or incidents immediately.

Requirements

• Reliable, punctual attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and remain active on your feet.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with operators and site team members.
• Valid driver’s license (required for potential movement between local sites).
• Basic familiarity with wheel loaders or small backhoes is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
