Role Overview
As a Transfer Care Specialist, you'll play a vital behind-the-scenes role by ensuring individuals entrusted to our care are transported safely, respectfully, and with dignity. This position combines independent work, driving, professionalism, and compassionate service.
What You'll Do
- Provide Compassionate Transfer Care
- Respond promptly to locations including residences, hospitals, nursing facilities, hospice centers, medical examiner offices, and other healthcare facilities.
- Safely and respectfully transfer individuals into our care while maintaining the highest standards of dignity and professionalism.
- Verify identification and documentation before transport.
- Communicate professionally with families, healthcare professionals, first responders, and law enforcement.
- Safely Transport Those Entrusted to Our Care
- Operate company transfer vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
- Ensure timely transportation to the appropriate care center.
- Maintain Equipment & Documentation
- Complete transfer documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Apply identification bands and properly document personal belongings.
- Maintain clean, organized transfer vehicles and equipment.
- Inspect and safely operate cots, stretchers, and other transfer equipment.
- Support the Team
- Participate in rotating on-call schedules.
- Provide backup assistance as needed.
- Auxiliary support as needed while maintaining Landmark's commitment to compassionate service.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- The ability to safely lift, push, pull, and maneuver equipment and individuals with assistance and proper equipment when necessary.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as needed.
- Previous experience in transportation, healthcare, EMS, public safety, funeral service, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- The ability to remain calm, respectful, and professional in emotionally sensitive situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- The ability to work independently while also supporting a collaborative team.
