Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, operational inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and perform corrective maintenance with minimal supervision
- Conduct scheduled operational checks and assist with required annual tramway inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with ANSI standards and manufacturer requirements
- Inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot emergency drive systems, backup power generation systems, and other emergency operating equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Maintain complete maintenance records, repair documentation, inspection reports, and inventory records
- Affirm compliance with preventative maintenance schedules, manufacturer recommendations, ANSI standards, and Goldbelt safety policies
- Apply lockout/tagout procedures and all required safety practices while performing maintenance activities
- Train and mentor Maintenance Mechanic I employees by demonstrating maintenance procedures, safe work practices, and proper equipment operation
- Evaluate equipment conditions and recommend temporary service interruptions or operational restrictions when equipment reliability or safety may be compromised
- Suspend or recommend suspension of tram operations due to equipment failures, weather conditions, or other safety concerns in coordination with management
- Perform Tram Operator or Tram Attendant duties during staffing shortages or emergency operational needs
Qualifications
- Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Thorough working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems, strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals, preventative and corrective maintenance practices, ANSI tramway standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting emergency drive systems and backup power equipment, proficiency using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or maintenance documentation systems, strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills, exercising sound judgment regarding equipment condition and operational safety
- Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, minimum 3-4 years of mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or related experience, CPR/AED and First Aid certification, Rope Access and/or Fall Protection certification, valid driver's license
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous aerial tramway, ski lift, or ropeway maintenance experience, experience with industrial electrical controls, welding or fabrication experience
