Trainmaster

Responsibilities

• Manage safety performance, operating practices, and financial productivity of the operation
• Customer interface and monitor the quality of service in accordance with contractual arrangements
• Assist in railcar-switching function as required
• Lead supervision of crews, schedules, and personnel
• Maintain payroll within budget
• Conduct efficiency and operating tests according to company practices
• Investigate incidents (derailments, personal injuries, etc.) and prepare reports
• Hire, train, and discipline new employees according to federal regulations and company policies
• Assist with other projects as assigned

Requirements

• Five years of work experience in the railroad industry, with supervisory duties
• Seven years of experience in the railroad industry preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of FRA regulations
• Associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred
