Responsibilities
- Manage safety performance, operating practices, and financial productivity of the operation
- Customer interface and monitor the quality of service in accordance with contractual arrangements
- Assist in railcar-switching function as required
- Lead supervision of crews, schedules, and personnel
- Maintain payroll within budget
- Conduct efficiency and operating tests according to company practices
- Investigate incidents (derailments, personal injuries, etc.) and prepare reports
- Hire, train, and discipline new employees according to federal regulations and company policies
- Assist with other projects as assigned
Requirements
- Five years of work experience in the railroad industry, with supervisory duties
- Seven years of experience in the railroad industry preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of FRA regulations
- Associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred
