Training Mission Simulator and Cyber Range Engineer

Tyonek is seeking a Training Mission Simulator and Range Engineer to support AF Cyber Operations. This role involves providing technical expertise for enterprise backup software, storage solutions, and cyber weapon systems within a training environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support for Enterprise Backup Software, backup infrastructure, and associated processes across centralized data centers, remote training locations, and disaster recovery sites.
• Monitor, optimize, and diagnose backup and storage solutions, including root cause analysis of outages and performance concerns.
• Document findings and propose resolution or optimization options for management.
• Research, evaluate, and analyze enterprise backup technologies and storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot and maintain training Cyber weapon systems, including architecting solutions for software and hardware updates.
• Integrate with Cyber Weapon Systems students and instructors to provide Tier 1-3 maintenance support.
• Communicate operational status, outages, and training delays to leadership.
• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or network issues, replacing defective components as needed.
• Analyze equipment performance records to determine repair or replacement needs.
• Design, implement, manage, and maintain virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, VMWorkstation, VMPlayer, Xen, VirtualBox, Hypervisor) and components (e.g., vSphere, vCloud, vCenter, ESXi, virtual machines, virtual switches, hypervisors).
• Design, engineer, implement, and manage unclassified and classified training mission simulators, network systems, cross-domain solutions, and long-haul data connectivity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 7 years of experience.
• IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+, VCP, CISSP, CCNP, GCED, CASP CE).
• Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods on level or inclined surfaces.
• Routine climbing or descending of stairs.
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
• Routine grasping, handling, or finger dexterity for objects.
• Ability to bend elbows/knees and reach above/below shoulders.
• Work primarily in a controlled office environment with normal temperature and lighting conditions.
