About the role
The Training Area Assistant supports the Helping Others team in various administrative tasks to enhance the organizational efficiency of the area. They assist with interviewing and hiring applicants, coordinating the onboarding process, organizing reports and data, tracking employee tenure, scheduling performance reviews, updating MTC tools, handling unique missionary needs, fielding calls and emails, maintaining the area webpage, and taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Responsibilities
- Reports to the actor trainer.
- Aids in the interviewing and hiring of applicants.
- Schedules and supports the onboarding process.
- Organizes reports, projections, and statistical data to forecast area needs.
- Tracks employee tenure and schedules performance review meetings during eligible time frame.
- Captures shift assignments by semester.
- Updates MTC Tools according to assignments.
- Handles unique needs of missionaries.
- Fields phone calls and emails from staff in the area.
- Maintains and updates the area webpage.
- May be asked to take on additional responsibilities.
- Led and directs the work of other employees, service missionaries, and volunteers.
- Creates, modifies, and improves curriculum resources.
- Aids in overseeing the area substitution process and tracking any undesirable patterns of behavior.
- Generates teacher performance reports in coordination with the supervisor.
- Fills in for the Manager in meetings as assigned.
- May be asked to assist in assessing the proficiency level of missionaries and teacher applicants in the target language.
- May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g., assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar).
Qualifications
- Confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Exceptional critical thinking and process design.
- Must be able to work independently and with others.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Documents).
- Excellent interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure, on own initiative.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Preferred
- 1 year of experience as an MTC Teacher or in another MTC capacity.
- 1 year of office or administration experience.
