About the Role

The Trainer, Fulfillment Pharmacist trains Fulfillment Clinical Pharmacists and Fulfillment Pharmacy Technicians on the basic functions essential for their new role. This position requires strong knowledge of fulfillment functions, including product receipt, lot tracking, counting medications, shipping coordination, and completing verification of prescription drug orders during the fulfillment process.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and delivers onboarding and ongoing training programs for Fulfillment Clinical Pharmacists to enable them to:
    • Complete verification of prescription orders during the fulfillment process.
    • Understand fulfillment pharmacist duties during on-call hours.
    • Assist in the development and execution of quality and production standards in the fulfillment area.
    • Communicate with RxARECARE team members.
    • Identify the proper shipping solution for each therapy, understand the pack-out, and perform final packaging.
  • Designs, develops, and delivers onboarding and ongoing training programs for Fulfillment Technicians to enable them to:
    • Fulfill prescriptions, including product receipt, lot tracking, counting medications, and shipper coordination.
    • Gather supply items included on a delivery ticket.
    • Create supply kits for specified programs.
    • Communicate with RxARECARE team members.
    • Properly ticket orders using designated vendor shipping applications (FedEx, UPS).
  • Engages in bi-weekly meetings with the Role-Based Training team and recurring Fulfillment team meetings to maintain an excellent understanding of current policies and procedures.
  • Conducts classroom and one-on-one training sessions using adult learning principles.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of training materials, guides, e-learning modules, job aids, and competency assessments related to the fulfillment process.
  • Creates training plans in coordination with leadership and Clinical Pharmacist staff to ensure Fulfillment Pharmacists and Technicians are adequately trained before working independently.
  • Facilitates additional training of the Fulfillment Team with leadership as needed, identifying skill or knowledge gaps and proposing targeted learning interventions.
  • Partners with pharmacy operations, clinical, compliance, and quality teams to ensure training reflects current policies, SOPs, and therapeutic knowledge.
  • Supports new program implementations, system changes, and process improvements through updated training.
  • Ensures the safety of patients and personnel by exercising good pharmacy practice in drug therapy instructions.
  • Reviews literature and other materials pertinent to the practice of pharmacy and attends/completes education and training programs.
  • Performs fulfillment pharmacist duties during on-call hours on a rotating basis; on-call duties may involve transporting products to and from the Panther facility.
  • Adheres to all Train-the-Trainer (TTT) program requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of Tennessee.
  • Active Pharmacist license in Pennsylvania or willingness to obtain one within 60 days.
  • Current enrollment in NABP Verify.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years as a practicing, licensed pharmacist.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of specialty pharmacy operations experience, including cold chain management experience.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as reading, observing surroundings, or working with various forms of data.
