Trainee Route Sales

About the Role

The Delivery Merchandiser Trainee is a fast-paced position responsible for learning and becoming efficient in the daily duties of route delivery and merchandising. This includes stocking and facing products on shelves, displays, coolers, and cooling vaults. The role involves providing route relief when needed and being prepared to take on a permanent route assignment in any delivery discipline.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Learn to drive a Class A CDL vehicle and obtain required licensing within 10 weeks of training start date.
• Under supervision, learn processes and gain skills necessary to service customers using equipment like handheld devices for invoicing, and accounting procedures for cash and paperwork.
• Secure company assets and inventory, handle products safely during delivery, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Develop merchandising habits and techniques to meet company standards, execute commercial plans, and maintain displays, product facing, and brand order.
• Build customer service skills by understanding customer needs and communicating issues to managers.
• Adhere to company standards on safety, equipment usage, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules regarding DOT and Hours of Service.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license for your state of residency with an excellent driving history.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (Class A CDL), not required for hire.
• Ability to pass and maintain D.O.T. physical requirements.

Skills

• Beverage or delivery industry knowledge preferred.
• Customer management and continuous improvement mindset.
• Sales ability and safety-focused approach.
• Previous route delivery, direct store delivery, stocking, merchandising, or retail management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service skills, self-motivation, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Dependability, initiative, professional demeanor, and sound judgment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.

Pay

$192.00 - $193.36, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, with weekends required.
