About the role

The Sleep Technician Trainee develops competency in and performs a variety of sleep studies to assist in the diagnosis of the type and extent of sleep disorders. The Sleep Technician Trainee works under the direct supervision of a sleep technician or technologist, lead technologist in collaboration with the Manager and Medical Director.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • RPSGT eligible and obtained within 12 months of hire within the clinic.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Minimum 6 months experience working in a direct patient care position.
  • Medical Board of California Polysomnographic Trainee license within 6 months of High school diploma/ GED.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Computer skills appropriate to the job.
  • BLS Required.
  • Able to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
  • Experience in an accredited sleep center.
  • Enrolled in or recent graduate of CAAHEP CoA-PSG program.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or Associate degree.
  • 1 year of experience as a sleep technician.

Skills

  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
