Trailers Material Loader

About the role

Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of South Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. We serve our residential, commercial, fleet, and government customers through our 150+ retail store locations in eighteen states, supported by our corporate offices (in Mount Airy, NC, and Cobden, IL), distribution centers, and strategically located manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Preparing Outbound Loads
  • Locate & Identify Trailers using Load Sheets with VIN #’s
  • Visually Inspect Trailers for Damage, Missing Parts, Items Inside, &/Or Other Issues
  • Stack Open Trailers in a manner that ensures Safe Transport & Delivery, Ease of Unloading at Destination, Load Maximization, & Minimizes Potential Damage
  • Load & Secure Accessories scheduled to ship with trailer load
  • Complete & Submit Required Paperwork including Verification of Correct VIN #’s
  • Stage Loads Properly – Single Pulls & Truck Loads
  • Load Trailers on a Wedge, Flatbed, etc. in a manner that ensures Safe Transport & Delivery, Ease of Unloading at Destination, Load Maximization, & Minimizes Potential Damage
  • Double-Check Load is Secured & VIN #’s Match
  • Assist in Hooking Up Single Pulls
• Receiving Inbound Loads
  • Unload/Unhook Delivered Trailers
  • Inspect for Damages/Missing Parts
  • Note Damages/Missing Parts on Packing Slip and Do Repair Form
  • Check Interior of Cargo Trailers for Accessories/Parts
  • Stage Units for Check-In
  • Once Cleared from Check-In, Move to Designated Location
• Maintain Trailer Lot
  • Trailers Located in Designated Areas in a Clean & Organized Manner
  • Stacking & Loading Supplies/Tools Properly Stored in Central Location
  • Yard Free of Debris
  • Forklifts Maintained & Put Up When Not in Use

• Forklift Driving/Operating Experience
• Loading/Unloading Heavy Equipment
• Working in a Challenging Outdoor Environment
• Standing, Lifting, and Handling Equipment (Up to 50 Pounds)
• Ability to Read & Receive Oral Instructions
• Ability to Understand Work Assignments &/Or Material &/Or Equipment Needs
• Ability to Think Critically & Find Solutions
• Installing Protective Devices such as Bracing, Padding, & Strapping to Prevent Shifting or Damage to Trailers & Accessories Being Transported
• Dependable, Honest, & Trustworthy
