Trailer Technician/Mechanic

About the role

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring a Trailer Technician/Mechanic to join their team in Shelbyville, IN. The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of hands-on experience performing, strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, and experience with major body repairs, including side panels, roof replacements, nose rails, and floor sections. Welding experience is also required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Skills

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with major body repairs, including side panels, roof replacements, nose rails, and floor sections
• Welding experience

Pay & Schedule

• Pay $25.00 - $32.00/hour (based on experience)
• Pay frequency: weekly pay - every Friday
• Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
