Trailer Technician I

Responsibilities

• Inspects and repairs trailers to meet company/OEM standards.
• Performs DOT and general inspections to ensure compliance.
• Repairs or replaces tires following company guidelines for PSI, wear and tread depth.
• Cleans parts and submits orders for replacement parts when necessary.
• Confirms proper equipment function post-repair.
• Uses tools to minimize downtime and increase efficiency.
• Assists Trailer Supervisor with various tasks as required.
• Maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years or more years’ experience in mechanic experience and/or training.
• Licensed Mechanic Journeyman preferred.
• Trailer Mechanic must be DOT certified.

Work Environment

• Indoor and Outdoor environment.
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions including direct sunlight & heat.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and extreme heat.
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
