Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues and repair vehicles to operational specifications, including conducting FHWA/BIT inspections.
- Troubleshoot and execute complex wiring repairs and diagnose and fix electronic problems.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Identify and replace worn or damaged parts, including major components like panels, top rails, bottom rails, corner radii, noses, roofs, and rear doors of reefer or dry van semi-trailers.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace.
- Ensure quality repairs by meeting shop standards and taking ownership of assigned jobs.
- Keep accurate records of services and repairs performed.
- Use all necessary safety equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience working on trailers.
- High proficiency in troubleshooting with diagnostic software.
- Strong computer skills for inputting maintenance records and utilizing diagnostic software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, stoop, kneel, see, grasp, hear, and work safely.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
- CDL license preferred but not required.
