About the role
Mohawk Industries is a leading global flooring manufacturer that creates products to enhance residential and commercial spaces around the world. This position is within the maintenance department, focusing on the inspection and repair of various types of trailers, trucks, and service vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Performs inspections and makes repairs to trailer units, shop equipment, and service vehicles.
- Preventative maintenance on tanker trailers, trucks, flatbed trailers, van trailers, some fabrication.
- Must be able to diagnose power units and use computer software.
- Inspects the overall condition of trailers to ensure compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.
- Attends any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
- Follows all established standard operating procedures.
- Performs general housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Performs other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent and/or letter of equivalence from Department of Transportation preferred.
- Two (2) years on-the-job experience as a truck/trailer mechanic required.
- Must be able to make inspections and perform maintenance/repairs to Department of Transportation regulations.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL and Air Break Certified.
Qualifications
- Must be an effective team member.
- Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related support areas.
- Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
