About the role
Prime's Trailer Rebuild Shop operates shop tools and machinery to facilitate repairs on tractor trailers. The role involves fabricating and repairing body parts, performing maintenance tasks, transferring products between trailers, diagnosing and repairing electrical and air supply issues, and maintaining the shop.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and repair body parts on trailers.
- Replace defective body parts as required to return equipment to factory specifications.
- Maintain fleet by performing detailed inspections and addressing all maintenance tasks.
- Operate overhead crane, fork lift, and shop tools to facilitate trailer repairs.
- Disassemble, reassemble all trailer parts as necessary to repair damaged areas.
- Diagnose and repair braking, ABS, and air systems using a lite check machine.
- Replace defective parts with new parts or reproduce parts from various kinds of metal stock.
- Verify completion of all maintenance tasks to maintain fleet standards.
- Provide good customer service to operators to identify and expedite necessary repairs.
- Maintain shop tools to preserve the life and functionality of company equipment.
- Clean tools and working area.
- Perform other routine duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical and welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs, push 50lbs, and pull 100lbs.
- Physical requirements include constant standing, handling, and forward reaching; frequent head turning, bending, side reaching, and pinching.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Pass a job-specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.
Qualifications
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends.
- Strong work history and positive attitude.
- Ability to acquire a rolling toolbox and own tools after training period.
Skills
- Welding experience (optional but preferred).

Schedule
Schedule Overnight shift Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday with every other Wednesday off. Shift starts at 5:30pm and ends at 5:30am.
