About the role
Fleet Trailer Technicians are responsible for performing maintenance service on 48ft. and 53ft. dry van trailers. They must repair various components such as suspension and running gear, landing gear, wheels, brakes, electrical systems, and more.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
- Maintain welding and metal fabrication skills
- Perform service calls
- Washes and fuels equipment when necessary
- Road tests vehicles to ensure quality repair services
- Consistently positive attitude, courteous, and professional interactions
- Assists, guides, and directs junior technicians
- Maintains a clean, safe environment that complies with OSHA and company standards
- Records all work and labor on a computer in the EMS system
- Works with the Parts Department to maintain necessary materials and supplies
- Complies with EPA regulations, DOT, and company safety requirements
- Performs other maintenance duties or assignments as needed
Qualifications
- Must have a clean MVR, drug test, and pass DOT physical
- Must have a valid CDL
- Proficient in using the EMS system
- Knowledgeable about EPA regulations, DOT, and company safety requirements
