What You’ll Do

• Perform wiring and electrical diagnostics, including trailer lights and related quick-turn repairs
• Maintain, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems
• Conduct general mechanical repairs on transportation equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep equipment in optimal working condition
• Inspect, test, dismantle, and reassemble machinery and equipment
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and respond to breakdowns promptly
• Install new or repaired parts, systems, and components
• Install new machinery and equipment as required
• Perform air brake line work in compliance with certification standards
• Fuel and lubricate equipment
• Operate tools and equipment necessary to complete repairs
• Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain responsibility for company tools and assigned equipment
• Communicate equipment conditions, repair status, and supply needs to supervision
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and confined space requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of mechanic experience, preferably in a transportation or fleet shop
• Air brake line certification (required)
• Strong hands-on experience with wiring, electrical systems, and trailer lighting
• Solid knowledge of hydraulic systems, diagnostics, and repairs
• Experience performing quick, efficient mechanical repairs
• Knowledge of diesel engines and preventative maintenance practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated leadership capability
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to work overhead, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry light weights
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
• Ability to handle stressful situations, multitask, and manage time effectively
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
