Trailer Maintenance Specialist

About the Role

U-Haul is looking for skilled technicians to maintain the newest fleet in the industry, ensuring trailers and Ford and GMC trucks remain in top condition for customers. Responsibilities

• Secure trailers on lifts and dollies
• Perform tire and brake maintenance
• Rebuild and repair braking systems and trailer components
• Dismount, balance, and mount tires
• Occasionally road-test vehicles
• Work on a production line
• Use proprietary electronic pre-inspection and repair checklist
• Assist in additional areas as needed under supervisor guidance

Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude (1-2 years of repair experience preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
• Regular attendance

Work Environment

The role involves moderate risks, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. Protective clothing or gear (e.g., masks, goggles, gloves, shields) may be required.

Physical Demands

The work requires physical exertion, including long periods of standing or moving both indoors and outdoors, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. (assisted or unassisted).
