Traffic Safety Project Manager
Job Summary
A vacancy exists in the Department of Public Works and Transportation, Bureau of Transportation. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below. Current and future vacancies occurring with any Office or Department of Baltimore County General Government may be filled from the list of eligible applicants. All interested transfer and promotional candidates must apply at this time. List all promotions and changes in job duties due to reclassification as separate work experiences on your application. Applicants must include the dates of the promotions and reclassifications.
Eligibility Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree PLUS Three years' professional experience in planning, zoning, or development management. Additional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Professional experience in traffic safety planning is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of traffic safety.
- Working knowledge of traffic control devices.
- Ability to analyze problems in traffic safety and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to support policy and design guidance documents for traffic, technology, and control devices.
Conditions of Employment
- Persons appointed to this classification will be required to work evening and weekend hours on a regular basis.
- The work of this classification is essentially sedentary. Some traveling between work sites and occasional walking or standing is involved.
