Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
- Prepare traffic engineering capacity analysis, knowledgeable with safety assessment, and identify intersection operational improvements.
- Design and prepare construction drawings for traffic projects, including signals and ITS.
- Apply a broad knowledge and good understanding of principles and practices of traffic engineering.
- Solve traffic and engineering problems effectively, communicate clearly, and produce high-quality technical writing.
- Demonstrate reliability, commitment to projects, initiative, and desire to advance knowledge of traffic engineering principles.
- Effectively manage tasks and projects, including financial and administrative duties.
- Effectively communicate directly with clients.
- Supervise staff.
Required Experience
- Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and/or HCS software is preferred.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards.
- Experience with Microstation.
- Experience with intersection and roadway concept development.
- Georgia DOT experience with standards and design process is a plus.
- Experience preparing traffic impact studies.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain a PE within one year is required.
Qualifications
- Education and/or Skills Required: Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 4 years of related professional experience, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.
- Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Deep technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.
- Expertise in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills to manage multiple contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
- Strong comprehension of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
Education And/or Work Experience
- Preferred Master’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)
Certificates, Licenses, And/or Registrations Required
- Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
