Traffic Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Manages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
• Collaborates with disciplines and subconsultants to develop a risk-adverse project scope and fee
• Develops project-specific project plans, Project Management Plans, and quality management plans
• Creates and maintains project schedules
• Manages subconsultants
• Monitors and executes project progress, including identifying and mitigating risks, developing extra work order requests, and open-end contract task proposals
• Communicates project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders
• Participates in the office’s project financial status meetings
• Builds relationships with clients to understand preferences and requirements to set up and execute a quality project
• Prepares progress reports and reviews invoices
• Develops and leads project status presentations
• Assists Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with the marketing process, including SMART Go/No-Go decisions, proposal development, and interviews
• Coordinates and guides all technical resources within the project team to ensure delivery of a high-quality outcome
• Provides coaching and mentorship to the project team through one-on-one check-in meetings and project debriefs to acknowledge achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned
• Leads and manages team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meetings, coaching) that supports the growth and development of the team
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited engineering program
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida
• 10+ years of related experience
• Experience working with local clients at the city, county, and/or state level
• Experience with roadway lighting, signalization, signing and pavement marking, and ITS design

Qualifications

• PTOE or RSP certifications (preferred)
• Experience with Open Roads Designer (preferred)
• Experience with Civil 3D (preferred)
• Experience with traffic modeling software (preferred)
• Experience with multiple project delivery methods (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3) (preferred)
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams (preferred)

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc., within the office environment. Fieldwork is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
