Traffic Project Manager
About the role
EXP’s Infrastructure & Transportation Practice provides comprehensive planning, design, and construction engineering services for all types of roadway, bridge, water resource, rail, transit, and aviation projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Traffic Project Manager to lead projects based from EXP’s Tampa, Florida office, enhancing our traffic engineering capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop traffic and safety studies including traffic impact analyses, traffic forecasting, traffic signal timing plans, and perform macro and micro simulation modeling.
- Prepare intersection and interchange design studies.
- Develop and review traffic control plans and work zone staging plans.
- Prepare and review traffic signal design plans, signing plans, and pavement marking plans.
- Prepare and review engineering reports, schematics, plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Work with other staff and practice groups to execute project delivery.
- Participate in industry professional groups and development activities to grow EXP’s brand and visibility within the Traffic Engineering community.
- Participate in Business Development strategies.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering from an Accredited University.
- 5+ years of experience, including experience leading traffic projects for DOTs, MPOs, and local governments.
- EIT or PE in the State of Florida.
- Familiarity with industry standards and State and local authorities, including FDOT and local agency objectives, standards, and specifications.
- Familiarity and proficiency in FDOT permitting and traffic policies.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team; project management experience desirable but not required.
- Experience with ITS and tolling systems design preferred.
- Active industry participation in professional societies at local and State level a plus.
