About the role

Join CHA Consulting, Inc.’s Traffic & ITS Team in Columbia, SC to manage complex transportation projects that improve mobility and shape the future of regional infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with industry experts, oversee impactful initiatives, and deliver safe, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Traffic & ITS transportation projects from proposal development through completion.
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including scope, budget, and schedule, and serve as the primary client contact.
  • Coordinate contracts, purchase orders, and project documentation with clients and subcontractors.
  • Lead project financials, subcontractor payments, and monthly review meetings with operations.
  • Develop project-specific health and safety plans and ensure QA/QC compliance as determined by the Quality Management Plan.
  • Communicate updates clearly to clients, management, and project teams to ensure timely and efficient completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required); Master’s degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience, including 2 years of project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
  • Expert knowledge of Traffic Studies Analysis and Signal Design with a proven ability to apply best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (MicroStation and Synchro version 10 or later) as well as Microsoft Office Suite and other management software.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
  • Proven ability to manage scope, budget, and schedule of technical tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-paced environment.
  • Motivated self-starter who works well independently; adaptable, calm under pressure, and skilled in problem-solving and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision (preferred).
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations (preferred).

Pay

Salary Range: $115,000 – $145,000. Salary is based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
