Responsibilities
- Perform traffic analysis and operational modeling for transportation projects.
- Prepare traffic impact studies, including trip generation, traffic distribution, and forecasting analyses.
- Conduct intersection capacity studies, traffic signal warrant analyses, and turn lane evaluations.
- Support roadway projects through Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), Traffic Management Plans (TMP), and other traffic engineering design efforts.
- Perform crash analyses and roadside safety evaluations.
- Develop recommendations for traffic operations improvements, safety enhancements, and transportation solutions.
- Prepare technical reports and clearly communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in transportation and/or traffic engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Missouri or the ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, and/or SIDRA.
- Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, MUTCD requirements, and AASHTO design guidance.
- Experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Ability to develop technical documentation and communicate engineering recommendations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- PTOE certification.
- Traffic signal design and signal timing optimization experience.
- Corridor modeling and transportation systems analysis.
- Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design experience.
- Experience working with DOT, municipal, county, and developer-led transportation projects.
- Interest in business development, client management, and professional industry involvement.
