The Traffic Engineer III position involves overseeing traffic flow and safety improvements within a city or region. Key responsibilities include analyzing traffic patterns, designing and implementing traffic control systems, and collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze traffic patterns and propose solutions to improve efficiency and safety.
- Design and implement traffic control systems, including signal timing and pedestrian crossings.
- Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and law enforcement to address traffic issues and enhance public safety.
- Conduct inspections and audits of traffic infrastructure to ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in traffic engineering.
- Knowledge of traffic engineering principles, traffic management techniques, and traffic control devices.
- Experience with traffic simulation software and traffic analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
