Traffic Engineer II

About the role

A motivated career Traffic/Safety Engineer is sought to join our Atlanta, GA office. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of traffic and roadway design projects with a team of experienced transportation engineers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Traffic Safety and Traffic Operations professionals as needed.
• Research and analyze vehicular and vulnerable road user crash data.
• Provide analysis to support development of design or operational ideas and solutions.
• Research alternate solutions and design options in support of the project team, e.g. white paper research.
• Aid in preparation of studies, conceptual designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
• Communicate and collaborate in a team environment and adapt to dynamic project needs.

Requirements

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline. 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Preferred: 5 years of experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and basic data science concepts.
• Experience in applicable industry and GDOT standards, regulations, and guidelines, including MUTCD, AASHTO Green Book, GDOT preferred.
• CAD software, and traffic analysis software proficiency.

Qualifications

• EIT or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Georgia or ability to obtain within 6 months.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in traffic engineering software and tools.

Pay

The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $70000 to $100000 per year.
