Traffic Engineer
About the role
Support junior staff and help grow the traffic department.
Conduct signal timing studies, evaluation of signal systems, and adaptive signal systems.
Design ITS, traffic signal, and lighting systems.
Design complex traffic control during construction plans.
Develop signing and pavement marking plans.
Analyze intersection and highway levels of service.
Conduct field reviews to identify safety and operational issues.
Cookordination work tasks and reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
Clearly communicate work through drawings, documents, reports, and verbal exchange.
Prepare Final Design plans specifications, and estimates.
Cookordinate internal traffic work to support other Lochner offices.
Participating in project scoping, fee estimating and proposal activities.

Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering.
- Professional License (PE) a plus.
- 2+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience.
- MassDOT, VTrans or RIDOT experience.
- Experience using CADD design software.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering.
