This role must be based out of one of the following North Carolina offices: Raleigh, Charlotte, Wilmington, Winston-Salem, or Asheville.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis, engineering, and design needs for transportation projects.
- Prepare traffic safety study reports, intersection and interchange operational analyses using HCS, VISSIM, TRANSMODELER, SYNCHRO, SIMTRAFFIC and other applicable Transportation Engineering Models.
- Analyze, optimize, implement, and fine tune traffic system timings along major corridors.
- Perform field visits.
- Write and prepare reports.
- Present technical findings and project updates to clients and actively contribute as a member of client management teams, fostering strong relationships and ensuring responsive, high-quality service.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).
- Detailed hands-on experience conducting traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Guide Sign software.
- Detailed hands-on experience conducting operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun.
- Detailed hands-on experience conducting safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety Software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Detailed hands-on experience using TransModeler.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Ability to multitask while working on many projects simultaneously.
- Local candidates preferred.
