Responsibilities
- Developing and preparing contract plans and specifications
- Utilizing computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) software in plans preparation and development
- Ensuring plans and specifications are developed in accordance with appropriate design criteria, policy, and procedures
- Assembling roadway design plans, signing and pavement marking plans, signalization plans, lighting plans, typical section packages, scopes of work, design exceptions and variations, and utility conflict reports
- Determining bid items, associated quantities, and compiling quantity summaries
- Preparing calculations for quantities and costing of projects
- Carrying out quality checks and procedures
- Designing engineering solutions and validating them to ensure they conform to organizational and/or regulatory standards
- Contributing to the analysis of information, drafting engineering standards and specifications, and evaluating their effectiveness within the engineering discipline
- Delivering small- or medium-scale projects while adhering to an established program management plan
- Developing own capabilities through participation in assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training, and coaching; maintaining external professional accreditation if relevant
- Maintaining an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
- Managing relationships with small clients and assisting senior colleagues in managing relationships with larger key clients and customers
Requirements
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3d (preferred) and MicroStation (desired)
- Strong teammate, able to work independently when required, cooperative in open sharing of information and knowledge with team
- Good time management ability, capable of handling conflicting priorities and working in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to meet challenging deadlines
- Somewhat familiar with traffic engineering experience such as completing Traffic Impact Studies and familiarity with HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic and SIDRA/RODEL traffic capacity analysis software (but not required)
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree
- Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain PE within a reasonable time period
- Minimum 5 years transportation engineering experience

$100,000.00 - $130,000.00, varies based on location and experience
Schedule
Hybrid model, combining in-office collaboration and flexibility. Three days a week in the office.
