Responsibilities
- Design of traffic engineering elements including traffic signals, roadway lighting, signage and pavement markings, ITS infrastructure, and work zone traffic control.
- Traffic analysis and modeling utilizing various software tools such as Highway Capacity Software (HCS), Synchro, Sidra, and PTV software tools (Vissim/Vistro/Visum).
- Safety data collection and analysis including crash data review, crash rate calculations, and Highway Safety Manual (HSM) analysis.
- Development related traffic impact analysis.
- Preparation of Transportation Management Plans for major roadway improvement projects.
- Preparation of traffic related technical documents and reports.
- Related field work and site visits.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in traffic engineering.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required.
Skills
- Knowledge of traffic engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with traffic analysis and modeling software.
- Ability to collect and analyze safety data.
- Proficiency in preparing transportation management plans.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
