Traffic Engineer
About the role
The Transportation Services team at Bolton & Menk is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Twin Cities metro. This is a great opportunity to work alongside a talented group of professionals and contribute to making communities safer, more sustainable, and beautiful.
Responsibilities
- Support project managers in traffic-related design, including traffic signal and roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, staging and traffic control plans
- Develop, coordinate, and complete final design and prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for traffic design work
- Coordinate construction administration of signal and traffic management projects
- Lead standalone traffic studies and contribute to complex corridor studies with cities, counties, and DOTs
- Plan and organize technical project work assignments
- Direct and supervise the work of other engineers and technicians
- Aid in the training and development of professional and technical staff
- Establish specialty area of expertise in traffic engineering design
- Travel to work sites and other project-related locations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college
- Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or able to obtain within six (6) months
- Thorough knowledge in related software (Bentley Open Roads Designer, VISSIM, AutoCad Civil 3D, SignCAD, MS Excel and Word)
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
- Generally requires six (6) years of progressive experience or Master’s Degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) preferred, not required

$68,000 - $120,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
