About the role
Parsons is seeking an early-career Traffic Engineer for its rapidly expanding business. The ideal candidate will leverage their civil engineering skills on marquee projects that transform communities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct traffic operations and safety studies in support of planning and design of various infrastructure projects.
- Develop traffic engineering studies, computations, material quantity take-offs, estimates, field studies/traffic surveys, and designs under close supervision.
- Apply basic principles and fundamental theories from a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field.
- Perform traffic engineering field work activities as needed.
- Support other engineering activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or related field)
- 3-7 years of work experience conducting traffic engineering/transportation planning
- Experience using traffic engineering/CAD software such as Synchro/HCS/MicroStation
- Completed college coursework in transportation and traffic engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Some work experience, internships, or co-ops related to traffic or transportation engineering strongly preferred
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate preferred
- Working Knowledge of traffic simulation software such as Highway Capacity Software (HCS) and Synchro preferred
- Working Knowledge of CAD software such as MicroStation is preferred
- Knowledge of traffic safety principles and procedures is a plus

Pay
$63,600.00 - $111,300.00
Schedule
This position can be based in either our Kentucky or Tennessee offices, on a hybrid schedule.
