Traffic Designer I

Job Summary

MCCORMICK TAYLOR, INC. is seeking a Traffic Designer I to join our team. This position will work on various traffic analysis and design needs for public agency transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide field data collection, traffic engineering studies, and field observations.
• Support traffic analyses and simulations, volume projections, and safety analyses.
• Aid in design efforts of traffic signal, signing and pavement marking, lighting, ITS, and traffic control plans.
• Prepare memos, summaries, reports, and other documentation.
• Deliver quality projects in accordance with accepted schedules and budgets.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Work as an organized, efficient team player under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-4 years of experience in traffic engineering.
• An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with common traffic engineering software including Synchro and HCS (VISSIM is a plus).
• Working knowledge of CAD software (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
