About the role

As a Protector, you will work with a team at job sites, setting up and taking down traffic control equipment, guiding traffic, and ensuring safety. No prior experience or degree is required—we provide full training and support to help you build a career in traffic safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic while monitoring job site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with your crew and supervisor.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule; must show up on time for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety-sensitive job).
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules at all times.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Skills

• No prior experience or degree required.
• Steel-toe safety boots (above the ankle) are required; all other gear is provided (hard hat, safety goggles, safety vest, safety whistle, walkie-talkie, and cold/hot weather gear).

Pay

$17.65–$19.50 per hour, with overtime available. Pay increases are offered within your first year.
