Traffic Control Flagger

About the role

A Protector at AWP Safety works with a team at job sites to ensure traffic safety. No experience or degree is needed—training and support are provided to help you build a career in traffic management.

Responsibilities

• Set up and take down cones, signs, barricades, and other traffic control equipment.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job site activity.
• Follow all safety rules taught in training.
• Communicate with your crew and supervisor.
• Help maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure they are clean and safe.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Stand or walk for 8 to 12 hours per shift.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule; must show up on time for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety-sensitive job).
• Must stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules at all times.
• Must treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Skills

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• Must bring your own steel-toe safety boots that go above the ankle (other gear, including hard hat, safety goggles, vest, whistle, walkie-talkie, and weather gear, is provided).

Pay

$18.00–$18.75 per hour. Overtime available, with pay increases in your first year.

Schedule
