Traffic Assistant Engineer / Project Engineer

LIN Consulting, Inc. specializes in traffic planning and engineering, civil and electrical engineering, serving Caltrans, counties, cities, and private owners and developers in Southern California.

About the role

The qualified applicant will assist with drafting, fieldwork, preparation of plans and reports, and cost estimates for traffic engineering and transportation planning projects. Tasks include assisting on traffic signal design, signing, pavement delineation, roadway lighting, traffic control and ITS plans, as well as traffic analysis and traffic reports for Caltrans and local agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting and fieldwork
• Prepare plans, reports, and cost estimates for traffic engineering projects
• Support traffic signal design, signing, pavement delineation, and roadway lighting
• Assist with traffic control and ITS plans
• Conduct traffic analysis and prepare traffic reports for Caltrans and local agencies

Requirements

• Some technical knowledge in traffic engineering design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (new graduates or senior students expected to graduate this upcoming year are encouraged to apply)
• E.I.T. certification or in the process of obtaining one is highly desirable
• For student interns: availability to work a minimum of 16 hours/week during the workweek (include the number of hours you can work per week and your school schedule in your application)
