About the role

The firm is seeking a mid-to-senior level New York based Traditional Labor Associate who is ready to step into a visible role. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the continued growth of a premier labor practice while receiving hands-on mentorship and support for long-term professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients through every stage of union-related matters, including organizing activity, initial union contact, collective bargaining, unfair labor practice charges, and grievance/arbitration management.
  • Provide background advice to management on labor issues.
  • Handle a variety of traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining, NLRB unfair labor practice cases, and labor arbitration.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of traditional labor experience.
  • Experience with collective bargaining, NLRB unfair labor practice, labor arbitration, and background advising management on labor issues.
  • Law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Qualifications

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills

  • Proven ability to handle complex labor disputes.
  • Experience with union organizing and collective bargaining.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
